PM E-DRIVE E-Voucher: Buyer Checklist and Missing-Voucher Questions

Checked 20 October 2026. A PM E-DRIVE e-voucher is part of the scheme’s purchase-incentive process. It should not be confused with a state subsidy application or a dealer discount. This guide explains which records to ask for and how to raise an incomplete-voucher issue through official channels; it does not confirm eligibility for a particular vehicle or purchase date.

Start with the vehicle and purchase date

Before discussing authentication, ask the dealer to confirm the exact model’s approval and the incentive applicable to your manufacture and registration dates. The official scheme FAQ requires vehicles to fall within the relevant PM E-DRIVE certificate validity and limits an individual to one incentivised vehicle of a particular category. Read the current scheme documents for category-specific conditions. A scheme-wide headline is not proof that every model is eligible.

How the documented e-voucher process works

The published operational guidelines describe Aadhaar face authentication through the scheme process, a voucher download link sent to the Aadhaar-linked mobile number, and signatures by the buyer and dealer. The dealer uploads the signed voucher and provides a copy to the buyer. Ask which stage is complete rather than treating an attempted authentication as a completed voucher.

What if the voucher has not arrived?

Ask the dealer for the status, the time of the attempt and any error shown. A July 2026 Ministry reply identifies possible friction from connectivity or maintenance, an unlinked mobile number, and outdated or mismatched Aadhaar biometric records. It says the system records transactions after successful face authentication. A delay therefore needs diagnosis; it does not establish either approval or permanent rejection.

Keep a short timeline of what happened, including the dealership, purchase reference and the stage the dealer says failed. Ask the dealership to escalate through its scheme support process. Avoid repeated guesses about the cause or submitting conflicting information simply to get past an error. Use the official PM E-DRIVE support page for current assistance details. Do not post Aadhaar images, OTPs or full identity records in public comments.

Check the invoice and retain your copy

The Ministry describes the eligible incentive as an upfront reduction in the purchase price, followed by reimbursement to the manufacturer. Ask the dealer to identify the incentive separately on the quotation and explain any difference on the final invoice. Keep the invoice and signed voucher together. Do not assume a dealer’s reimbursement status means that the buyer must submit a second, unrelated personal claim.

Keep state benefits separate

Record any state purchase incentive or road-tax concession on a different line. Its authority, conditions and process may differ from the central scheme. Our Haryana EV policy guide illustrates why these benefits should be checked separately, while the Orbiter guide helps you compare the scooter’s variant and charging needs.

FAQs

Does a booking receipt prove my e-voucher is complete?

No. Ask the dealer which voucher steps are complete and obtain the relevant record.

Does a missing voucher mean my application is rejected?

Not necessarily. Request the status and error details through the dealer and official support.

Is PM E-DRIVE the same as a state EV subsidy?

No. Check the authority, eligibility and invoice treatment of each benefit separately.

Should I share identity documents in a public comment to get help?

No. Use the official support process and share only the information it legitimately requires.
